I don't know how much of a success the NBA had with charging a price to watch the games online. The video quality was pretty bad and most people who somewhat internet savvy were able to find alternate sites like justin.tv that streamed the games for free. I think the price point would be justified if the NBA was able to offer higher quality video along with a live gametracker to provide supportive info.
